Storage advice Figs

In the store

Before selling, fresh figs must be stored in a cool, dry place at 2 to 4°C and at a relative humidity (RH) of 85 to 90%.

At home

We advise consumers to store figs in the refrigerator, where they will keep for a few days. Remember: the fresher the figs are, the tastier they will be.

Usage tips Figs

You can eat fresh figs whole, skin and all. Figs are also ideal for use in both sweet and savoury dishes.

Extra tip for the consumer
Sweet figs combine well with a gutsy counterpart. They taste wonderful with raw ham and a drop of balsamic vinegar, or try them with some goat’s cheese or Gorgonzola.

Maturity / Freshness Figs

You can eat fresh figs whole, skin and all. A soft fig does not mean it has gone bad. If the fig gives a little when pressed gently, it is still perfectly fine.
