The papaya is a tropical fruit that can be found in South America, Asia, and Central and South Africa. The fruit grows directly on the tree’s trunk. The trees bear fruit year-round. A ripe papaya has orange flesh and seeds which are not consumed. The flesh has a subtle, melon-like flavour.
Papaya Formosa is one of the largest papaya varieties. Papaya Formosa has a green-yellow skin and orange, sweet soft flesh. Yex actively supports this wonderful product and we will be happy to help you with special offers and promotional activities.

Slice the papaya like a melon; cut the fruit in half length-wise and remove the black seeds. Cut the papaya into slices and remove the skin. The flesh is delicious as is, but is also very tasty in a fruit salad.
Extra fact for the consumer
Papaya contains a protein-degrading enzyme (cysteine protease) called papain, which makes the flesh softer. This is why papaya is often eaten with various meat dishes. The papain also makes the papaya easily digestible.
A ripe papaya is yellow and should hold a slight imprint when you press on it with the palm of your hand.
