A sweet potato is just like a regular potato in that it is a starchy tuber. However, they are not related: the potato is a nightshade plant, while the sweet potato belongs to the morning glories and bindweeds family.
Sweet potatoes are rich in antioxidants, vitamins A and C, and beta-carotene. They’re also rich in healthy fibres, which quickly create a feeling of being full. Moreover, sweet potatoes contain complex carbohydrates. These carbohydrates are important for the body and ensure that you won’t feel hungry for a longer period of time. That’s good news for your figure!
